- 4. Add some warmth and color. If you cannot afford any paintings or new furnishings, give your apartment a new life by playing with fabrics. Attractive wall decors can be achieved by framing some fabrics with attractive patterns or wrapping a blank artist canvass with one. You can also use decorative pillow cases and sheer curtains that you can purchase inexpensively or do-it-yourself. If you own the place, painting a feature wall or the room can instantly give it a make-over.
